Urgent Request To Protect Lives Under Threat in Colombia

I am writing to express my concern for the life and well-being of Javier Correa, President of the Colombian Union Sinaltrainal - a union the USW has worked closed y wiht for many years. On novembre 24, 2009, Mr. Correa received an implicit death threat by someone calling himself Arnoldo Jimenez. Jimenez, who called the cell phone of Javier assigned to him by the Ministery of Protection, told Javier that he had "a deadline until the 22 to renounce (he didn¨t say what), and that there would not be a second call." When Javier asked him what he was talking about, the caller said, "you know wath I am referring to."
