"Los derechos sindicales son derechos humanos"
NGG Sarre afilia a sindicalista colombiano.

Edgar Páez, Secretario International del Sindicato Colombiano de Alimentación -SINALTRAINAL-, fue afiliado al sindicato alemán NGG de los sectores de la alimentación, gastronomía y hotelería. A través de éste gesto la NGG, que represanta a 240.000 afiliados en Alemania, da una muestra de solidaridad efectiva con el movimiento sindical colombiano en general
y, en particular, con los sindicalistas de las sucursales colombianas de multinacionales como Coca Cola y Nestlé; reconoce tambien, la gravedad de que los asesinatos y otras violaciones a la vida y a la integridad de los trabajadores colombianos no hayan sido resueltas y que aún no se haya sancionado a ninguno de los responsables de éstos crímenes.

Con la afiliación de Edgar Páez la NGG está integrando por primera vez oficialmente a un representante de SINALTRAINAL. El contacto se estableció en una reunión con representantes de la DGB Sarre y la NGG Sarre, alrededor de un discurso de Edgar Páez en la ciudad de Sarrebruck, capital del Departamento del Sarre al sur de Alemania. La “madrina“ para la afiliación de Edgar Páez es Isolde Ries, representante de la NGG Hesse/Renania-Palatinada/Sarre y diputada en el Parlamento Departamental del
Sarre.

Isolde Ries anuncia que su sindicato va a "presionar a nivel internacional para que las violaciones crueles de derechos sindicales en Colombia ­ amenazas de muerte, secuestros, hasta asesinatos de sindicalistas ­ sean perseguidas con la consequencia apropiada por el estado colombiano en vez de ocultarlas". Edgar Páez comentó el acto de la afiliación en las oficinas de la NGG Sarre como "un momento histórico". Páez dijo además, que éste hecho era "representativo para todos los sindicatos colombianos" y que SINALTRAINAL se volvía "parte del movimiento sindical alemán y viceversa".

El presidente de la DGB Sarre, Eugen Roth, dice que apoya la iniciativa de la NGG. La DGB Sarre es la confederación de ocho sindicatos, representando a 170.000 afiliados en el departamento de Sarre. Roth critica a las empresas multinacionales que "hablan con dos voces". Roth literalmente afirma: "Nuestros líderes de la economía, que supuestamente son personas modernas, no se deben quejar sobre consecuencias debidas a una globalización violenta que ellos mismos van empujando! En vez de violar los derechos humanos y así crear un clima de miedo y represión, apretando cada día más para bajar los salarios a nivel internacional, las empresas multinacionales más bien habrían de exportar sus marcas valiosas de una forma humana y digna".

Según el presidente de la DGB Sarre la globalización no debería ser "utilizada como un palo para pegar", sino como "contribución para internacionalizar condiciones dignas y humanas de trabajo igual con salarios justos".

PRESS RELEASE "union rights are human rights" NGG Sarre makes Colombian unionist a member.

Edgar Páez, International secretary of the Colombian Union of the Food Industry - SINALTRAINAL , was affiliated to the German union NGG of the sectors of the food, gastronomy and hotel industry. Through this gesture the NGG, that represents 240,000 members in Germany, gives an example of solidarity with the Colombian union movement in general and, in
particular, with the unionists of the Colombian branches of multinationals like Coca Cola and Nestlé; it also recognizes, the grave danger that exist because the murders and other violations to the life and integrity of the Colombian workers have not been solved and that the responsibles for these crimes have not yet has been sanctioned.

With the affiliation of Edgar Páez the NGG is officially integrating for the first time a SINALTRAINAL representative. The contact was made in a meeting with representatives of the DGB Sarre and the NGG Sarre, during a speech of Edgar Páez in the city of Sarrebruck, capital of the Department of Sarre in the south of Germany. The "godmother" for the affiliation of Edgar Páez is Isolde Ries, representative of the NGG Hesse/Renania-Palatinada/Sarre and deputy of the Departmental Parliament of Sarre.

Isolde Ries announces that its union is going "to push at international level so that the cruel violations of union rights in
Colombia ¬ death threats, kidnappings, even murders of unionists ¬ are prosecuted by the Colombian state with the appropriate
consequences instead of hiding them ". Edgar Páez described the act of the affiliation in the offices of the NGG Sarre as "a historic
moment". Páez added, that this was "representative for all the Colombian unions" and that SINALTRAINAL became "part from the German union movement and vice versa".

The president of the DGB Sarre, Eugen Roth, says that he supports the initiative of the NGG. The DGB Sarre is the confederation of eight unions, representing 170,000 members in the department of Sarre. Roth criticizes the multinational companies that "double speak". Roth states: "Our economy leaders, who supposedly are modern people, should not complain about the consequences of a violent globalization which they themselves are pushing! Instead of violating human rights and thus creating a climate of fear and repression, tightening more every day to lower the wages at international level, the multinational companies should rather export their valuable brands in a human and dignified way".

According to the president of the DGB Sarre globalization should not "be used like a club to strike", but as a "contribution to
internationalize dignified and human conditions of equal work with right wages".
